Race for Life.......
Cancer research is an investment in the future. Many of us know somebody whose life has been affected by Cancer.
Even the smallest donations help to fund research.
I find it amazing how people will splash out £5 or so for a pack of cigarettes or a drink, but wouldn't think to put their hand in their pockets to donate to such a worthy cause.
Ian and I both run for Cancer charities in Heaton Park, Manchester. I have done the 'Race for Life' womens race and Ian has done 'Run for Moore' the Mens race for the Bobby Moore charity.
Each year we run for the past, the present and the future..
Update......... Wow what a day... and guess what - I took my hoops ! No amazing times for me - 35 mins, but got my medal anyway ! Its all about making an effort really, what kept me going was the thought that there are many who would like to run but are unable to do so.
My pain was only temporary, the achievment will last me forever.
Ian ran faster than me - but looked worse for wear ! - so much for him being younger and fitter eh !
